Pyramid Professional Resources accepts the homeless and the marginally housed person.  Each applicant has to come in to PPR for two different appointments to fill out application papers.  It is felt that if a person is interested in finding work, he or she will be at each appointment , and will be a good candidate for the program.

 

First Appointment:

            Application papers

            Code of Conduct

            Listing in detail of the last four jobs

            List of 5 references

            State ID  (if they do not have one, information is given how to obtain one*)

            Tuberculosis  Skin Test *

*  Information is given where and how to obtain these .

 

Second Appointment:

            Health History

            Psychosocial History

            Ten year history of job experience

            Alcohol Breathalyzer Test  and Drug Test  

 

Acceptance:

            Each application is reviewed and accepted when the above is completed.

 

In cases where an applicant does not have the funds to pay for a TB skin test, or a State Id, Pyramid Professional Resources will provide the funds for such after all materials are filled out and the drug and alcohol testing is negative.  

Should an alcohol breathalyzer test be positive,  the person may come back another day and take the test again.

Should the Drug Test be positive, it is advised that the person come back 30 days after the drug was taken, and take the test again.  

Pyramid encourages anyone with an alcohol or drug problem to join appropriate support groups to help them with their addiction.

Who, What, Where
When and How

A consortium of Lexington area churches hosts and supports the services of Pyramid Professional Resources. PPR services are available three mornings a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 AM until 12:00 Noon.

Pyramid Professional Resources is located in the basement of Christ Episcopal Church at 166 Market Street via the Upper Street Entrance.

PPR began its pilot program phase in December 2005 with referrals from the Room in the Inn program and is now open to referrals from throughout the Lexington-Fayette County area.

PPR accepts referrals of applicants that meet the basic eligibility criteria of homelessness, and unemployment.
An important part of the PPR Program is the encouragement, mentoring and support which clients receive as they work toward goals of employment, housing and self development.

If the homeless person doesn’t have a steady job, is it all that surprising when they don’t even have a telephone, voice mail, a mailing address, computer and internet access. What about clean clothes and transportation to go for an interview!
