Client Application Process

Pyramid Professional Resources accepts the homeless and the marginally housed. We ask each applicant to come in to PPR for two different appointments to fill out application papers.

  • First Appointment:
    1. Application papers to PPR
    2. Listing of the last few jobs you've had.
    3. List of 4 references, that do not have to be local
    4. Your Rights to confidentiality
    5. An Introduction to PPR
    6. Any Identification you have
    7. Tuberculosis Skin Test *

The first application asks for your living arrangements, criminal history and work history. It feels very much like a job application. It is designed to ask many of the same questions you will likely experience while looking for work.

It is ok if you do not have your TB skin test for the first application. You can get one for $12 at the Health Department or the Hope Center will also give them.

  • Second Appointment:
    1. Health History
    2. Psychosocial History
    3. Authorization of Release
    4. Alcohol Breathalyzer Test and Drug Test

The second application asks about your past medical and mental health history. While second application involves less paper work you will be asked to speak with one of our case managers so that they can assess how best to help you and it is best to plan on staying longer.

It is at this point that, if there is space, you will be asked to take a drug test and breathalyzer. After having passed both of those, and providing a recent TB skin test you will be accepted into the program.

  • Should an alcohol breathalyzer test be positive, the person may come back another day and take the test again.
  • Should the Drug Test be positive, due to medication, you will be asked to provide proof of your prescription. If the drug test is positive and it is due to illegal drug use it is advised that the person come back 30 days after the drug was taken, and take the test again. However, you will be put at the bottom of the waiting list.
  • We encourages anyone with an alcohol or drug problem to join appropriate support groups to help them with their addiction. If you do not know the local resources we will be happy to point you in the right directions, whether you are a client or not.
